one of the reasons I don't watch Gundam 00 is that I look at the characters but all I see is "look, fangirls, here are your new toys!
Well, they said the same about Gundam Wing back in the day, and that was a rather serious anime. I'm planning to watch 00 sooner or later, but yeah, SEED sort of made me suspicious of the very newest Gundam...
I'm mostly the same way with het/femslash subtext - "mostly," because I have different standards for those, even if this makes me a hypocrite.
We're all conditioned since birth to think of male/female pairings as the "natural" way of things. I'm trying to be critical of my own thought processes, but it's not as if I always succeed either, heh.
