I always thought BL was like a general term for all M/M manga and yaoi was the name for the explicit stuff. And aren't doujinshis simply self-published non-official stuff like fanzines? Are you saying that there is no professionally published yaoi at all?
I haven't had much contact with BL/yaoi since high school but I'm pretty sure this was how we used these terms back then. Did that change or were we wrong all along?

maybe i don't see what you're seeing as to what is misogynistic and homophobic? I think it's a description of the misogynist and homophobic thought behind the trope.
