The amount of hostility in this fandom amazes me. And it's what keeps one more Rose/Ten shipper out of it (me), so you're getting your wish one way or another. Kudos. (baw, cry moar robynadele!)

Although seriously, you act as if the Rose/Doctor fans are the only ones who need to "GTFO out of YOUR fandom, YOURS dammit". Can't we all just get along?

Ahhh, Who fandom is a scary, scary place to be sometimes. But you don't have to hide yourself away - there are Rose/Ten coms where it's... well, all Rose/Ten shippers, so no one's going to freak out on you for liking it. It's the neutral ground that you have to be careful in. (Hahaha, I feel like we're talking about war here.)

But really, not everyone is that immature. :)

I'm a member of at least one Rose/Ten community and I really like it there. But I would love to be a part of the Who fandom in general, because I love everyone on the show. I don't think I truly dislike any one character (maybe River Song, if I have to choose, lol). Everyone on the show gets along for the most part, why can't the fandom be the same way?

LOL, I was pretty bugged by River Song too. I hope she's not the next companion, or that she promptly gets more awesome.

I actually have wondered about this - usually it's kind of funny to see how different fandoms have their own "personality," but so much of Who fandom is immature and snippy. Why is that? I guess it's a kind of campy show, and young in the sense that it's more fun and lighthearted than, say, the West Wing. I'm willing to bet those fans don't have too many ship wars. :P

Agh! I'm in the US too, I'm hoping it pops up on surfthechannel. So psyched! :D

lol word. I ship Doctor/Rose and I haven't seen much of the old series and Ten's my favourite, so I'm pretty sure by fandom standards at large I am like, the scum of the Earth, despite the fact that I am in no way rabid.

BUT WHATEVER, I'll just hide in my little

time_and_chips corner. Occasionally I consider wandering in further, but it always innevitably leads to "hmm.. ...naaaaah."

Well, if you just don't say "Rose is the best evar!" everywhere you go, you should be fine. Just don't poke the crazies.

Even I rolled my eyes at that one, and I loathe [series 4] Rose and mostly can't stand Doctor/Rose. (I just don't think that most of the fic for them is IC for the Doctor.)

I love how the secret poster is apparently "shipping" the Eleventh Doctor (sight unseen, actor identity unknown) and the next companion (also sight unseen, actor identity unknown), apparently on the basis that they're not Ten/Rose.

What if they end up hating 11/whothefuckever even MORE? What then? Will they go away?

Tired of all the, "get out of my fandom!" bullshit. Even if I'm not fond of Ten/Rose shippers, I'd rather avoid the people I find most annoying then have people abandon the fandom; the popularity helps keep the show alive, yes? (Something I suspect some Classic Who fans actually resent.) It's a big fandom, after all, we can stick to our own corners when we can't get along.

It's like the old school fans are pretending there was no fannish craziness, immaturity or wank before David Tennant's Doctor. Um, what.
