Woke up, ate breakfast, scrolled the internet awhile, went for a run, took a shower and gave my dog a bath and a nail trim. Back to dicking around on the internet now, thinking about eating something but I'm not sure if I want to wait until dinner time or not. I was planning on getting sushi from Doordash.

Writing an asylum brief that my boss sent last night and that is kicking my butt. Not sure if a particularly hard brief, if my brain is just off today (super awful nightmare last night), or both. Probably both.

I think I'll be having a drink with dinner tonight if I ever finish this thing.

Talked to my doctor. I now have to see a rheumatologist. Who knows how long that will take (my face looks awful). Went on a couple walks but it is super windy so those were not very enjoyable.

Just worked from home, which kept me busy today. It was one of those days where people need 15 different things from me and they're all urgent and it's hard to get any one thing done because of the interruptions.

It was nice and sunny today but chilly. I spent a little time in the backyard during an afternoon break just to feel the sun, but didn't stay out long. Still not far enough along with spring to make lounging outside nice. I have daffodils blooming, though.

I had good food today. I made French toast with Hawaiian bread for breakfast and topped it with thawed frozen strawberries. Lunch was part of a frozen pizza that I wanted to start to use up because I will finally venture to the store this weekend (it will be the first time in two weeks!) At lunchtime I took a piece of salmon out of the freezer to let it thaw. For a snack I had tea and a couple of the chocolate chip cookies I made over the weekend. Dinner was the recipie below for simple sheet pan salmon and broccoli (reduced to one portion). I also had some mashed potatoes with herbs to go with it. I'd had some potatoes I needed to use up so I made a pot of tasty, seasoned mashed potatoes the other day.

Pretty much nothing.

I was talking to my mom earlier about a show we both watch and she mentioned how two characters "clearly adore each other", and how one of them loves a third character. I disagree that he adores/loves either of them, and I ship him with a fourth character who isn't either of those two so I'm kind of annoyed with her lol.

Windows are better than mirrors, sometimes.
We have to remember that.

I have no problem with how I look in the mirror. It's others that have a problem with the way I look.

Getting drunk, well, trying to at least. Not sure if I have enough wine for that though...

That's my current plan now that I've finally finished the work for the day. Good luck on your drinking adventure.

I've never been drunk enough to be hung over, though I always balance out my alcohol with water to keep myself hydrated which I'm told is important for avoiding hangovers.

Keeping hydrated is key to not getting a hangover, alcohol drains you like a sieve and the best thing is to drink water as your drinking. People normally only have a glass before they go to bed, but while it helps, it's not gonna be enough most of the time. I usually stick to wine since it doesn't leave me feeling too worse for wear the next day. I tend to be a pretty good drunk, I don't think I've ever been over the top smashed, but at the same time I have a high tolerance as well so I usually don't bother wasting a whole box of wine in order to get there;;

My best hangover tip is /not/ to drink coffee after you've been drinking. The stimulants and its low level of hydration just makes everything worse. Movie cure be damned!

I try to drink at least the same amount of water as wine (and more if I'm drinking harder stuff).

Oh SHIT! A RACOON just walked right up to my backyard window!! IT WAS SO CUTE!!! My neighbours cats always drop by to visit and play with my cat through the glass, so I was like what who got a new cat, before I realized like ho'shit! that's a racoon!! I don't have to worry about it getting into my garbage or anything since those are locked up, but we've never had those cute furry guys around before and I love 'em! <333333

I'm sure he's gonna make a mess outta something (cause apparently thats what racoons do) but I do not care! SO ADORABLE!

Re: Whatcha doing today, FS?

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
lmao that was my reaction the first time the raccoons came around my patio doors. "is that a new cat? OH SHIT A RACCOON!" The cats were far less than amused, they hate that fucker. He tries to get into my bird feeder but can't because he's too fat to climb up for it. and now he has a friend he brings with him.

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Luckily my cat ran up right as the racoon ran away. The poor thing looked young, since I know they get bigger than that, so I hope the neighbourhood cats don't bully him too much. We don't have a bird feeder anymore, but I can totally imagine a swarm of them trying to climb the tree and get at the food! <3

Raccoons are super cute unless you have pers they’d like to eat (I have lost chickens to them) and then they are psychopaths (but cute ones!)

Re: Whatcha doing today, FS?

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Oh no! My cat stays indoors, so they shouldn't clash too much. I'm sorry about your chickens! I love hearing about them! I have coyotes in my area and people lost a few pets to them, it's always scary living close to wild animals, especially when you don't expect it.

I bet they're getting more bold with fewer people out and about and fewer cars on the roads.

Re: Whatcha doing today, FS?

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh most likely, everyone's staying at home too for the most part so everyones trash is bound to be overfilled as well. I think it was more curious since we were watching a show with a lot of flashing lights, otherwise I don't think the little guy would come right up to the window like he did. Also a lot of nearby land is (or was) being developed into housing, most of it being open fields/tree lines, I remember when the open lot beside our house got bought and built on all the mice had to scatter and most of the nearby houses got infested. Of course racoons can be urban animals so the loss of land might not have much of an impact with them.
