I can't relate because coffee does absolutely nothing to me, it's exactly like drinking water, so it just vaguely annoys me because as someone who is very much not a morning person it reminds me of how much I wish it did.

Seconding this. The only thing coffee sometimes does is keeps me from falling asleep when I'm actually trying to sleep. It doesn't make me feel any better or more energetic, though.

Have you tried energy drinks, anon? Real energy drinks with both caffeine and taurine in them, I mean. They're not some kind of miracle fix for me, but if I drink one when I'm feeling like death warmed over, in 40 min or so my exhaustion has usually abated to a level where it's at least manageable.

I'll give those a try. Thanks!

*thumbs up*

For the record, energy drinks get a very bad rap from the "healthy nutrition" crowd. But most scientists and doctors agree that it's actually the excessive sugar and caffeine in energy drinks that is bad for you. The taurine, which the healthy nutrition crowd likes to point to like its the devil, is far less of a health concern than the caffeine and sugar.

So basically, if you'll drink soda and coffee without worrying it's destroying your health, there's no reason to worry about having an energy drink a couple of times per week.
