I know not-guilty verdicts happen and guilty people go free all the time but damn, that's not what I want in my fiction. I want justice, since it's so absent in the real world. There are episodes of Law and Order I won't watch for this reason. Maybe this makes me a baby but I don't find the gritty realism of injustice satisfying.

Literally every episode I've seen of SVU has the bad guy go free and the cast going "I guess we'll get them next time!". Like I'm sure there have been episodes where this hasn't happened, but not in any of the one I've caught.
