I always assumed that this was the ship of the movie, almost Phantom of the Opera style?
I mean you can't control your feels and I've honestly just learned to embrace them when they come! I mean, it could be worse!

Comment OP here and you caught me; I’m also a Christine/Erik shipper. I think what makes me uneasy about Evey/V is that, unlike most of my fucked up ships, V thought he was helping Evey by torturing her. Erik was a selfish bastard who lied to and threatened Christine with horrors, but Christine is never shown as wrong to be fucking furious about it.

Unlike most of my other ships, V wasn’t romantically interested in Evey, or she in him, until after he’d basically psychologically broken her. He made her into a more dedicated, driven, fearless person, but literally like someone molding and firing clay, in the “beat the shit out of, reshape, and put through a furnace” sense.

The film does a pretty good job of showing that most of V’s actions, however horrific, were justified by what he was up against, but that even he knew what he’d done to Evey was cruel and horrible even though she thanked him and came to love him in the end.

I don't blame you for feeling that way. It's meant to be kind of a messed up relationship in the middle of a messed up world. I did like movie V/Evie better than the one in the comic though, although that one definitely had stronger sexual undertones to it.

Internally I shipped them immediately and found their relationship fascinating, although I fully recognize what he did to her, and how horrible it was to basically brainwash someone. I took him for a really lonely vigilante and his connection to her was the most human aspect of himself that was presented to us in this story, I think, which I why I found it so fascinating. But she's also not a wet mop or anything, and I liked that she was somewhat flawed, yet powerful in her own way.
