I don't think I would ever read a female virgin fic in my life. It's all so cringey to me, and borderline psedo-pedophilia when it's done in such a way that the big strong experienced man has to teach the tender quivering young woman what sex could be, and ugh... I hate it.

Well, probably, I try to avoid them as much as I can after the first times I came across them, so most of my knowledge comes from people talking about them, or the admittedly small amount of fic I read when I was younger that creeped my the fuck out.
Obviously not every instance of virginal sex is like this obviously, but I had such a bad first impression I really just don't want anything to do with it anymore.

Most of this trope in fanfic (and published romance books) is written by women with the assumption other women will read it. I find it ironic that people assume all of this content is coming from misogynistic men when it's by and large women writing and enjoying this stuff.

It's perfectly fine not to like this set up but I'm tired of hearing people frame it as something incredibly sexist and written by toxic men when it's just...a thing some people like and some people don't and it's as simple as that.

As the anon of the ayrt responded to, I never said anything about it being written by men or that it was a form of toxic masculinity, so I don't see what kind of point you're trying to prove by mentioning this here in this particular conversation.
