Weekend Plans?

What is everyone doing?

I got my unemployment figured out so I am celebrating with take out. Tomorrow I am going to thin our carrots out. I also got my hair cut today. So now it won't take me 20 minutes to straighten it.

I'm mentally and physically exhausted, but unfortunately, I have a Toastmasters area zoom annual meeting tomorrow morning starting at nine. No idea how long it will be as this is my first year as club president, so I've never attended one before.

I also have a brief to write this weekend for my boss.

Hope to watch some Call the Midwife (need a pick-me-up, so that felt like a good choice) and sleep at some point in there.

And I really need to stay away from the news for a few days. Which makes me feel guilty that I have the freedom to do that. But I'm no good to anyone burned out, and I'm headed in that direction.

I'm in Minneapolis, so I'll be doing whatever our police state lets us between the hours of 6 am and 8 pm. 🙄

(Honestly, though, I'm fine. Trying to find a relief effort to help with tomorrow since I can't be at the protests. I have food. I have shelter. I had a bunch of people call today to make sure I'm okay. We'll get through this. I just hope justice will prevail this time.)

Ordering Chinese takeout tonight. Probably going to cook something over the weekend - maybe chili or a pot roast, I haven't decided yet. Just surviving

I dunno actually. The mall's open now and I kinda want to go to Barnes and Noble. It's pretty big, so it should be easy to social distance in there, but it's also gonna be really hot and I hate going out in the heat.

Right now i'm seriously considering deleting my tumblr and having done with it. People very obviously don't want me there, not even the ones who claim to still be my friends, so i might as well complete the transition once and for all, right?

I just got back from the grocery store and my car's breaks were kind of creaky from not being driven in two weeks, so maybe I will just drive around a bit at some point this weekend and periodically break hard! There's absolutely nowhere I need or want to go. (These days, I'm too unimpressed by humanity in general to go places.)

omg I have to work every day. It sucks. I'm so exhausted. Plus I have a lot of work due on monday and tuesday on top of that. Trying to talk myself into getting things done early so I don't feel too overwhelmed once the week starts but I fell asleep and am likely in for a long night tonight.

Can you name cartoons based on live-action movies that you liked/remember?

I was watching the Mummy Returns movie and suddenly remembered the cartoon series based on the kid getting the bracelet stuck on his arm.

Also I don't remember if they were actually good but I remember really being into the Jumanji and The Mask cartoon series as a kid.

I remember Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures and The Real Ghostbusters. And of course, Beetlejuice. I have a vague recollection of Karate Kid and Back to the Future being made into cartoons.

I recall not liking it, but JAMES BOND JR., holy cow. It was on right after something I did watch, and the theme song was a bit of an earworm.

The cartoons of The Mask, Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber from years ago.

Many of the others I loved have already been listed, so I'll throw in for the Ewoks cartoon, which was my favorite Saturday morning cartoon from 1985-1987.

The Beethoven cartoon was a lot better than the live action dog movies it was based on, too.

What movie that doesn't already have one do you most want an animated cartoon spinoff of? Or other spinoff if you have something more specific in mind.

I know X-men evolution was made in response to the very first X-men movie, but I would like another one based on the X-men prior Dark Pheonix (I mostly want emo Nightcrawler and punk Storm to hangout).

Also a cartoon series based on the musical Wicked.
