What are your ridiculous headcanons, FS?

(Anonymous) 2020-06-12 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Tell us all about them here!

In my head, General Hux is straight and has a serious thing for older women, because literally every man in his life from his father on down has hated him, tried to hurt or humiliate him in some way, or has otherwise been awful to him, while he was protected from harm by his mother, then Rae Sloane, and to a degree Captain Phasma (SPOLIER ALERT) although I know she isn't an older woman she did help Hux kill his father so there's definitely a bond there. I feel that although he could never really trust anyone, the closest thing Hux has ever had to an actual friendship has always been with a woman. Also I hate that weird homophobic take that a character like Hux must be gay because he "acts like that".

Most people don't think he's "gay because he "acts like that"" but because they ship him with another guy. And let's not pretend that your weird Freudian daddy issues/Oedipus complex take is in some way morally superior.

Anon, you're speaking my language. This isn't ridiculous at all and I love this headcanon.

Also ignore that other Anon. You clearly struck a nerve but you're absolutely correct, a lot of people do headcanon him as a gay because he "acts like that" - which is their own prerogative but you're allowed to dislike it.

I love the suggestion that, in Game of Thrones, Cersei doesn't actually tell Tywin that she lost Arya until he gets to Kings Landing and she couldn't avoid it any more. A) Because this explains Tywin not realising that his cupbearer, the girl with grey eyes and a weird level of education for a commoner, might be the missing grey-eyed noble girl; and B) because the imaginary scene where Cersei tells Tywin and he realises that Arya-fucking-Stark was under his nose the whole time and also realises that No-One Can Ever Know is just so fucking funny to me.

Re: What are your ridiculous headcanons, FS?

(Anonymous) 2020-06-12 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
I would love to see that scene. Moreso because I think Arya and Tywin got on surprisingly well. I'd back Arya in a fight, though.

At some point Edward Elric tried to tell Roy Mustang "You're not the boss of me," forgetting for one brief, blissful moment, that Roy Mustang was, in fact, The Boss of Him.

I can’t believe this never happened because it totally sounds like something Ed would say.

copypasta from tumblr, but I like it anyway -

unpretty:
another dumb headcanon: superman is nice to birds because of course he is, and helps out birds who are in distress. also he can fly around with them. birds see a lot more of superman than they do of most people, basically. the unexpected consequence of this is that the crows of metropolis recognize superman as a friend. sometimes crows just follow him around like a weird flock, or try to give him shiny things. but mostly please just imagine luthor trying to gloat while threatening superman with kryptonite only to have a crow steal it. or just, generally, lex luthor getting attacked by crows. if that does not improve your day i don’t know what to tell you.

This is great because some species of birds are very good at recognising faces so they would know Clark as Superman.

And Lex gets his big bald head shat on constantly.

That a very minor celebrity is bi because he said something along the lines of "I don't want to say I'm gay because people would judge me for it for the rest of my life, and I don't want to say I'm straight because that implies that there's something wrong with being gay" which is just...such a weird thing to say, IMO.

Why not just say you're gay/straight because you ARE and not worry about what people will think/how it will come across? IDK, I just can't imagine a straight guy saying something like that. He has a wife, so I'm assuming he likes women at least somewhat (unless he's just flat out in the closet), but he's noticeably avoided saying what his sexuality is on a couple different occasions when it's come up (and I think most people would just assume a guy with a wife is straight, so I feel like it's pretty weird that it's even come up to begin with), so he's bi in my mind lol.

To be fair, have you seen how stupid and hypersensitive basically everybody is on social media?

But yes, that is an unusual way to speak of one's sexuality if they don't actually mean what they say.

It sounds like a metrosexual or a "woke" heterosexual man said that. Stereotypical straight men don't say that, they just come out and say "Not gay!"

I made the mistake of watching the Deadpool movies shortly after rewatching V for Vendetta and now I basically headcanon that movie V looks like cancerrific Wade Wilson. I mean, the Deadpool makeup doesn’t look like burn damage exactly, but it’s similar. And also film Deadpool and film V are like comedy and drama mirrors of each other. I kind of want to read crossover fic now.

I firmly believe that at some point during Voyager's journey home, "Janeway" became a Borg swear word.

I have thought for DECADES that little Romulan kids are told that Captain Kirk will get them if they're bad.

It's been debunked by the creators but I stand firmly by the interpretation that Howard McKenzie is a psychopath or at least has some kind of developmental/personality disorder.

Because come on when you're that flexible, why not?
