Quick question: Do you think that the concussion made her a bigot, or do you just think that having been hurt in the past gives her an indefinite free pass to hurt others?

Maybe it makes her uncomfortable seeing male bodied people in female spaces.

I am a cis woman and have been misgendered often enough that I started to hate my body for not being feminine enough. Which is why transphobes piss me off so much. Being misgendered sucks. People who do it deliberately are assholes.

Do you really believe every woman who is skeptical about some of this gender stuff are gender conforming?

If I'm going to be angry, it's at a society that expects women to conform to the majority's vision of femininity. But it's easier to blame TERVES instead of society or the men who make both women and trans people's lives hell. Unsurprising.

And yet here you are enforcing your own vision of femininity. Do you hear yourself?

AYRT—I literally do not care if people are gender conforming or not. Gender (and sexuality) policing sucks. People who do it suck. People who are “skeptical” of trans people and (in your case) trans women’s self identifying suck. Okay?

Trans women aren’t fucking hurting you. Trans women aren’t men. Men as a group often suck and I don’t normally “not all men” but I’m gonna go ahead and say that transphobes suck more than a lot of individual men. Most men are mostly fucking steeped in patriarchy and privilege and most TERFS probably aren’t and still fucking suck at not conflating trans women with men, so they manage to be just as bad as some asshole men who got all their sex ed from porn and think women were created from Adam’s rib to be his subordinate.

Misgendering does not suddenly become less shitty when it’s done to a trans woman than a cis woman. I am not trans, so I can’t speak for them, but I am speaking for myself when I say if you misgender someone by invalidating what they themselves identify as, no matter what they (or their genitalia) look like, you are an asshole. Full stop.

I have a cis female wife.

She looks very dude-like and wouldn't pass your check because of PCOS.

There are women with PCOS with beards and everything that have the same questions about gender that so-called TERFs do. Bringing up females with PCOS to prove absolutely nothing is tedious.

"We can tell you're trans"

No you can't? My wife literally looks like a man. Broad shoulders, flat chest, no curves. But I can guarantee you she has a vagina, and she was born with it.

It's not just PCOS. TERFs have written about feeling unsafe in women's only hostels because one of the cubbies had shoes that were "too big" to belong to a woman. Never mind that I know cis women who actually have to buy men's shoes because women's shoes don't get made in their size.

TERFs write checklists about all the body parts you should check on your female partner before dating them. Measure her pelvis! If it's wider than X centimeters, run for the hills! She's a "man"!

And I'm sure you know all of them, Stubble Sally is your best friend's cousin's teacher's wife, etc, etc, etc, so you're qualified to speak for them.

I could see her point if she was abused by a man who faked being trans to go hang out in dressing rooms, but that's not the case? And trans women are often the victims of violence, sadly, not the instigators of violence against other women.

Trauma isn't rational

Stop making assumptions about her trauma to justify her disrespect of trans people.

She also said somehow that trans people being equal would somehow effect a MS charity, so forgive me if I don't fucking believe her.

But one person's trauma doesn't get to dictate how the world works for everyone else. Trans women very often have trauma too.
