Well, if they are anything like me, I don't even see WIP fic. I search only by completed fics. So you really are not courting people like that.

But OP is making it seem like people that only read completed fics are asking to be "courted". Or that the person in the original secret was saying that. I saw no indication of that from readers or the first secret.

I don't know if OP is the same as me, but I don't mark them as completed when they are completed. My readers know of course, but people who only ever read completed fics will never know.

Anyway, I was referring to not courting people who are conceited about only ever reading completed fics but who never comment anyway. I agree with the secret maker. I don't even want those people to read my fics.

I found a writer once who marked their WIPs as complete. Sure enough I've avoided their fics ever since.

Please properly tag your fics. (Or don't, I'm not your boss. It just makes it easier on everyone.)

Tagging WIPs as complete is definitely bad form. But not tagging them as complete when they are complete doesn't hurt anyone.

I don't know if I agree with that.

I mean, it doesn't exactly hurt me as a reader who filters their fic search by completed only, but as another Anon said, it does cause the author to miss out on potential readers like me. But if you don't care about that then I suppose it doesn't hurt anyone. I just don't understand why you wouldn't mark your work as complete when it's completed.
