i had a dentist appointment this morning. someone handed me shades to protect my eyes from the light as they examined my teeth (which no dentist has ever done for me before wassup) and the dentist said "oh no, those will crush your lashes" and the dental assistant said "you do have fabulous lashes" ahahah

(also my lashes were fine in the end haha)

I finished my cross stitch sampler today. It's a little wonky because it's my first cross stitch, but I made it and it looks decent as long as you don't stare at it too closely.

One of my cats insists on being stroked while she eats. She'll stand in the front hall and meow until she gets someone's attention, then lead them to her bowl, and wait until she receives patting before she eats. If the patting is satisfactory, she'll purr while eating. I have no idea why she does this, but it is both very cute and very inconvenient.

My orange cat is currently sleeping in his cardboard box at the foot of my bed (he does not like to cuddle, but he wants to be close) and he's making lil snuffling noises. <3

I found a fat petite dress form! Since I'm under five feet tall and overweight, even padding up a size zero dress form would still leave too long a torso. Unfortunately it was almost as much to ship the thing as buy it, but since I basically just bought a headless, armless, footless body and am having it shipped from several states away, there's no way shipping would be cheap. It's also a full body form. Maybe I'll try making some pants, although I bet the form has a bigger butt than I do, since my whole family was last in line when the asses were handed out.

No more wonky duct tape dummies for me!

I recently found out that my cousin's wife is now cancer-free! She was diagnosed with breast cancer about a year and a half ago while she was 8 months pregnant with their third child. She had to have an early c-section before she could start treatment, but the baby was and is fine, and thankfully it looks like his mama is going to get to see him and his older twin siblings grow up! She's still planning to have a mastectomy, but since she's doing so much better than expected, the doctor said that it's safe to wait a while before she has the surgery.

We've all been so worried about her, especially these past few months what with the pandemic and all, so this is a truly profound relief, to say the least!

I found my ultimate OTP, like I am so head-over-heels for these two. The guy's like only in literally one comic, but has all the 'THEY WERE ROOMMATES!!!' (one bed, yaba daba do~, if you know what I mean), 'DICK-BABY!!', 'WE UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS!!', mayhem going on, and like I don't even care that he never showed up again- I don't even need him too, I got all my ultimate shipping standards all in one sitting, and I AM LOVING IT! I'm not surprised. IRL people either haven't heard of what she's saying on Twitter or don't care and I feel like bookstagram has even doubled down on the HP posts (maybe not exactly because of it, but it's apparently Harry's birthday month and everyone is totes seperating art from the author or something).

As someone who was kind of tired of seeing HP everywhere she went in fandom before, I'm even more tired now... but I guess people still have fun so yeah. Guess you gotta take what you can get.

For the record, I was never like "Throw out all your books and denounce your fav fandom!" or anything like that. I mean, I still have my favorite Marion Zimmer Bradley books afterall... But I really thought maybe holding back from posting about HP all the time would be something that would happen at least on bookstagram. Guess not.

I AM however annoyed by the people who don't understand (or don't want to understand) that yes, there is a difference between buying yet another book set by an author who is still alive and holds all the rights to her work and buying another book set by... let's say J.R.R. Tolkien (whose name has been thrown around in those "But what about..."-posts) who is. You know. Dead.
