Exactly! This was the perfect opportunity to cast a diverse group of people and debunk that bullshit about non-whites not drawing a large theater crowd (since, obviously, the huge success of Dreamgirls with its all-black cast didn't work).

Well, I only like to see movies in which overweight white women with freckles and medium-length brown hair are the stars.

People need to check their own worldview. I mean, maybe I just have read a lot of the subject so it seems so clear to me, but the people who don't seem to get it, just drive me nuts.

Seriously. I knew nothing of the live action casting (I watched the series (and loved it <3) but am not in touch with the fandom or anything), and was pondering seeing the film, but if it's going to be all BTW EVERYONE IS WHITE, I don't think I'll bother. I find the idea kind of gross, actually. A big part of what I loved about the cartoon was the way it addressed sexism and racism and political issues in general, TBH. The idea of that being lost in the film is really, really sad.
