Was Tuvok portrayed negatively? I can't speak for the other shows, because I wasn't as obsessed with them, but I was a huge fan of Voyager and I don't remember it that way. He was occasionally teased and made fun of, but so was everyone else. I mostly remember him as Janeway's oldest friend and advisor, someone pretty much everyone respected. I'm pretty sure he gets one of the only promotions on the ship as well.

He wasn't used enough, didn't get any meaty arcs, that's true. But few characters on Voyager did tbh.

I also liked the other Vulcan on board, Vorik. I felt his story was dealt with pretty well.
