There are a lot of things I miss about the pre-COVID world, but going to movies in the theater is at the top of the list. I've just always loved the experience. If a movie is good, I'll see it 2-3+ times in the theater. That's where I spend my fun funds and free time. Watching at home just isn't the same.

People who say Disney ruined Star Wars and how it's gotten "cutesy" are beyond ridiculous. It's been cutesy since the OG trilogy: ewoks, jawas, wookies, tauntauns, Yoda, C3PO and R2D2 are all cutesy characters, and complaining about porgs or D-O or whatever just makes them all look like the same ~fake fans~ they're always bitching about.

A while back I had requested a secret, but then I had to ask for it not to be posted due to a fandom bully having found me. Just wanted to say sorry for the hassle, but thank you all for your hard work!

[I'm not sure how to phrase this one, secret makers, so please bear with me rambling a bit, you don't have to copy it word-for-word or anything if you don't want]
When I come across a writer whose work mainly involves inserting one female character into various canons and having men fall in love with her, I find that writer is not very good at characterisation. It's all about the One Girl - Higurashi Kagome, Buffy Summers, genderswapped Harry Potter - and how Beautiful and Wonderful and Unbeatable she is, in every setting, in the face of all challengers. Everyone who sees her thinks she's amazing, whether they're gods or demons or otherwise asexual.
But such writers tend to be prolific and consistent (because you could search-replace the names of the characters and it would make little difference), so they have their fans. As long as they're having fun, right?

SPOILERS FOR AGGRETSUKO SEASON 3.



The last episode of season 3 of Aggretsuko was a really jarring tonal shift and honestly kind of gross. It felt like it was just there for some shitty shock value and to prop Haida's character up.

Bonus!secret: I am super shipping Haida x Tadano after this season.

I’m super uncomfortable with the fact that I find Five attractive. Not necessarily “would bang” attractive, but still distinctly attractive in some capacity.

Yes, the character is actually 58 years old. But the actor is 15/16, and Five’s body is supposed to be 13.

I try not to be hung up on American English versus British English, but if you're writing a crossover between The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter, two of the most British canons to ever canon, could you perhaps, just maybe, not use 'mom'?

If there are going to be any TOS character in Strange New Worlds, I want it to be McCoy. How did a civilian end up in Starfleet? What happened to his wife? Why did he turn out the way he did? (I know it's going to be Jim, but a gal can dream.)

Sometimes when the comments section is a little too quiet, I think of making troll secrets just to stir up some conversation... I never do, but not for any virtuous reason. It's just that all the arguments that I see in the responses to (suspected) troll secrets are really boring and repetitive.

I really enjoyed the movie "I Am Dragon," but I hope the original Russian dialogue was better than the English sub and dub, which both weren't great.

And the random out of nowhere pop love ballad made me cringe. Idc if it was Russian so I couldn't understand it, it took an already ridiculous melodramatic movie and topped it with a mountain of cheese.

I hate when series finales are clip shows. I don’t want to spend the last few minutes with these characters reliving their greatest hits. It just seems lazy.

I'll never understand shippers who watch something knowing their ship will never be canon and yet still remain utterly furious about this fact as if it's some incomprehensible surprise every episode/installment.

Either understand it'll never happen and enjoy the ship in fanon, or move on and watch something else. No ship is worth stirring yourself up into a rage-fit for, also I just can't summon any sympathy for people essentially sticking their face into a tank labeled 'contains sharks' and are aghast to find that... it has sharks in it.
