OH INDEED. It was the first game to include FMVs and be multi-disk. It may not be the best game ever made anymore, but at the time that's exactly what it was lauded as.

While I totally know it's mediocre and am under no delusions here... Asking why people still like the game is like asking why people still like Star Trek.

Yeah, at the time... Ifeelsoold It feels like forever ago. BUT YES. At the time it was 38947398274 kinds of WOW and SHINY. Now, there have definitely been improvements, but I'd at least refer to it as a classic. Don't know if that's entirely right, but it seems appropriate. OR MAYBE I AM BIASED.

And yes, that comparison works. XD;;

haha, I still remember being flabbergasted that the game was OMG HITTING IT'S FIFTH BIRTHDAY good lord we are old.

Court just made the apt observation that, "I think all these people are just bitter that they never played it as little kids and thus never felt the magic, and now they're just old and bitter that they MISSED THE TRAIN. AND WE'RE ON IT. AND WE AIN'T GETTING OFF."

XD HELL YES. Now I'm remembering that damn train in Corel and the huge materia and saldjlsw plz shoot me, I don't like feeling OLD. ;-;

I remember when I was a kid I used to get so frustrated when I made the damn thing crash into Corel. T____T I WANTED MY HUGE MATERIA SO IT COULD BE ALL PRETTY IN THE OBSERVATORY.
