Yes. Settlers of Cataan is my favorite. But I collect different Monopoly sets and also have a couple nerdy versions of Trivial Pursuits and the Star Wars version of Life. And We play Scrabble a lot in our house.

Chess, yes. Other than that, not really. I will play if people are playing but it's not really my particular field of geekery. Also I think a lot of popular board games are just boring and dull. I pretty much never want to play Risk, Monopoly, or Settlers again in my life.

I rarely play but I like them. I like games that focus on strategy and (tend to) have a fairy tale or fantasy setting. I also like word guessing games like taboo or charades.

I love boardgames and tabletop games like Clue and chess and Scrabble and Battleship and all that sort of thing. Unfortunately they do rely on having multiple people, which is not something I often have :c
One of my favourites is called 'Articulate', where you make pairs, and one person draws cards and tries to describe the thing on the card to their partner. The things come in various categories (objects, nature, world, people, actions, and 'random' which is the WORST), and the categories are arranged around the board in a wheel, so as you go around the board you go through the categories. Every thing you guess correctly within a time limit, you move forward another space. It's very funny sometimes, the way people try to describe things without saying the thing.

Weekend Plans?

What is everyone doing this weekend?

Tonight I am playing Overwatch with my sister. Tomorrow I am hoping to get some diamonds for my blanket done. I will also be trying to coax my cat into not hating me because he had to go to the vet today.

This weekend's plans are... Suffering in Numenera because no one was prepared for the emotional turmoil of last session.

I found a whumptober prompt list and might make plans for that.
And I have coursework I've been procrastinating on to do.

Tomorrow I get my allergy shot at 10:30 and have to run another couple errands. And I have to prepare for my Toastmasters meeting that is on Tuesday because I'm leading and I won't have time during the week to prepare on account of having 1 more week at my temp job.

Other than that, lots of sleep and finishing season 3 of Avatar: The Last Airbender. And lots of time with my kitty who has missed me so much she is currently sleeping literally on top of my legs. I'm not allowed to move I guess.

Aw, my dog ignores me for hours after I take him to the vet.

I got a new doll in the mail, so I hope the smoke clears up some more tomorrow so I can take some pretty pictures of her.

I'm going to keep knitting on my scarf, maybe sew the fleece lining of a knit hat I made.
I also plan on live-blogging the protest march that'll be passing pretty close to my house tomorrow in our family group chat. There have been violent protests in my city last week and now everyone's holding their breath and waiting how the march tomorrow will turn out.

Tomorrow I am going to drive over and see my uncle. Which is good, like, we're not super close but he's a good guy and it's always good to see him and it'll be good to catch up. I am a little worried abut how we're going to manage socially distancing, since we're in smoke country at the moment and being outside probably isn't the best thing to do, but oh well.

Other than that, mostly staying inside because of the aforementioned smoke.

Grocery shopping - I'm going to go out with my mum and restock the freezer, which we recently did a big cleanout of - and on Sunday I'm going to go to an open air market with a friend and maybe get some cake. Then we'll probably go back to her place and watch TV while eating cake.

I'm blown away that it's already the weekend again... I have no memory of the past week? Lol? Hmmm, I guess work as usual. Gonna throw a party for a friend too. Got a few more books to read before October rolls in with a new batch. There's a lot going on, I guess, so that's good. Weather is really nice which fuels the productivity mojo.

I'm gonna be cleaning house, doing chores and yardwork, and making masks, and then I'll probably reward myself for doing the boring stuff by spending too much money on plants--I really want to buy flower bulbs and maybe some native plant seeds. It's still too smokey to go out for walks.
