Personally I think the whole idea works well in principle, but gone unregulated it doesn't really benefit anyone except the businesses involved.

The manga is totally AU where Zelda changes into Sheik by way of magic, so far as genderswapping. I think. That's... what I was told.

Well basically in the game Impa, Zelda's caretaker, is from a race of people called the Sheikah (who've died out some time ago in OOT canon, in the manga I think there was some whole thing about them being betrayed or something. But IDK, its been awhile since I've read the manga lol). She has ~*magical powers*~ due to being a Sheikah and can see through illusions (hence the Eye of Truth item you get in the game).

In the (non canonical) manga, Zelda asks Impa to turn her into a Sheikah boy and seal herself away for seven years until the time is right (and so Ganondorf won't find her and take away the Triforce of Wisdom). Impa does so and calls this new person Sheik. So Sheik is like an illusion who dies off later in the manga when Zelda replaces him.

Personally I like Sheik as his own person mostly because of the manga D: Yeah I think that OOT>>>>>manga and I know that Zelda=Sheik but still I liked the aspect of a character like him in the Zelda universe. You know, not having a past and possibly wondering who he truly is (although I think Impa might have told him hes like...not real. lol poor manga Sheik.)

I was incredibly surprised at the revelation; the picture of Sheik in the manual looks completely male in the musculature, and the eyes and hair had different colours. I thought there were two Sheiks for a moment; the real one, and Zelda in disguise at the end of the game. What can I say, the conflicting images temporarily confused me, heh.

117: I don't understand how you can read One Piece and not love all the characters in some way.

I know you just don't get it, but people can still like AUs where Sheik is male, without denying canon or hating Zelda.
Hard to grasp for you because you always rant about it, but it's the truth.

And I can certainly grasp that. I know you don't get it, but protesting people who deny that Zelda is Shiek canonically isn't hating on the people who are just interested in AU.

Bull. Shiek IS Zelda. They're the SAME character. Zelda dresses up like Shiek to take care of herself.

...Nothing to do with your comment (I think the whole Sheik debate is silly. I know Sheik=Zelda and I LIKE TO THINK OF SHEIK AS HIS/HER OWN PERSON) but that site is REALLY pretty. I've noticed a lot of Zelda fan sites look very eye soothing and professional.

AGREED 100% Well, except the whole hating everybody(Except for stubborn fangirls that still thinks Sheik and Zelda is not the same person. Them, I have no love for >:( )

But OoT manga > the game when it comes to the Zelda/Link goodness :D Yes, the game is still better, but for me, the manga will have a special place in my shipping heart&hearts
