Outside of politics?

Watched some dude outside my window kick the tires of a bunch of cars in the parking lot. That's it. He just kicked the tires of all the cars and then moved on. Not sure if he was bored, crazy, or both. The tires are fine so I guess I'm fine too but... yeah.

The Cuties scandal now at the level of Senate hearings, half because Cruz is a tool and half because he's probably desperate for anything to take the attention away from Woodward's book.

Senate hearings? Wait, what?

Someone commented on my rainbow face mask, telling me I shouldn't wear it or people are going to think I'm gay.
I still don't know if I should be offended or if I should have clarified that I am indeed one of the gays, but I just kind of nodded and walked away instead.

What an asshole. I don't think I'd be able to resist asking, "What's so bad about someone thinking I'm gay?"

Wha? People sure are concerned about the oddest things. Also, this reminded me of the time someone asked me if a coworker was gay because she had different colored pens on her desk. Apparently it's gay to color code your work.

“Oh, that is a problem - I wanted them to know it.”

(But disengaging is good move)

Honestly, I think there's something kind of adorable about a person worrying people might think you are gay rather than just assuming you are gay.

It's less adorable when you realize that they're warning OP because they think that being mistaken for gay is a bad thing.

I don't think homophobia has ever really struck me as adorable.

Good for a laugh, I guess, maybe, under the right circumstances. But adorable is not a word I'd use.

I don't understand. What's so adorable about homophobia? Because that's homophobia.

I would expect homophobia to be more likely manifest as the person assuming Anon is gay and being uncool about it, rather defaulting to the assumption Anon is straight but oblivious to the signals they are potentially sending. I've never had anyone tell me people might think I'm gay because of X, Y, or Z, but I've had plenty of people assume I'm a lesbian and be nasty about it over completely innocuous things like wearing a tank top putting my hair up (I think most of those people were drunk, but still).

What makes it fun when people assume I'm straight is when other gay people assume it too and don't believe me when I say otherwise.

Honestly I'm use to it by now, but it sucks when straight and fellow queer people don't take me seriously unless I can 'prove it'.

I had a random lady in a store say something similar to me once during the weekend the city nearest to me has their Pride parade, because I was wearing a rainbow skirt and she wanted me to know that 'people could take it the wrong way.' I didn't want to make a scene or anything so I just kinda nodded and walked away, rather than pointing out that if I'm wearing a rainbow skirt during Pride it's probably, y'know, on purpose.

This actually happened Saturday, but hearing a line of Trunts driving down a busy street with their stupid Trump banners, making a bunch of noise, honking as they drove along. It's bad enough I have to see the stickers on some of these vehicles around here. I don't need to hear how goddamn stupid and traitorous the drivers are too (and in many cases, completely ignorant of how fucking traitorous they really are).

I was listening to the radio, and a journalist kept trying to get a politician to say when a certain project might, possibly, maybe, could be finished. He just kept repeating that it had been started, that it had begun, that it was underway, and she just... could not get him to answer the fucking question. I wanted to reach through the radio and give him a clip around the ear.
