What are you working on? How's it going?

I'm not getting any art done at the moment because my perfectly functional tablet and my new laptop are refusing to talk to each other and I don't know what to do.

I've stalled a bit on knitting because I still can't work out how to combine knit and perl without getting lost, and it's a bit hard to seek in-person help at the moment.

I had a really cool idea for fic, and I've disappeared down the research pit and may never emerge. (It's a Gamer fic for the Dresden Files, so sort of Gamer-by-way-of-D&D)

I'm going to make a cake for the birthday of someone in my choir, and I want to decorate it with a four-part arrangement of the happy birthday song. I only just remembered how much I hate trying to draw straight lines on a cake.

I'm coloring some fanart and it's swinging from "oh, this is great" to "oh hell, this looks craptastic".

In my head my WIP was almost done. Today I realised i'm years away from finishing it. It's taken me seven years just to write 33,000 words and I think the first draft is only half way done. I despair.

Also, I'm usually pretty good at structuring stories but this one has an ending that just goes on and on.

I started a new fic. I have to really push myself because I haven’t worked on anything creative in years and I was feeling really sad about it. I’m getting to a point where it’s starting to feel fun again, but I’m so hesitant with it because I keep pausing to make sure this is how X worked in canon and to verify this is how Y would’ve spoken. I wanna be able to just churn out a chapter like I used to and then clean up inconsistencies during the editing process, but it’s hard to get into that mindset.

I'm working on a sequel to a oneshot fanfic and am trying to connect the first half of the fic I had written a couple of days ago, to the ending that I just wrote up hours ago. What makes it hard is that it's right in the middle of a porn scene, so I'm trying to think of how to make it all flow together.

Also I'm trying to decide on either looking for Halloween prompts to draw up next month, or focus on my 20 days of comics challenge instead.

Nothing at the moment, but I will be working on at least one fic for the Trick or Treat fest as soon as I get my assignment. I'm really excited to be writing again, and I hope my person likes what I gift them. I hope I'm able to write them more than one thing.
