More and more Democrats have been vocalizing and demonstrating eerily puritanical opinions on fandom and fiction in general. I'm used to that shit from Republicans, what the hell is going on?

SA
And my opinion is that, what the heck, we shouldn't be puritanical! We're supposed to be better than that!

Puritanical, polarized, or extremist views aren't limited to one side. It can manifest in any group.

It depends what you're calling "puritanical". Because if not defending child molester shit like some people in this thread are doing is "puritanical" then I'd be happy to be puritanical in your eyes.

I don't totally know what we mean when we talk about Puritanical.

To me, I think what's frustrating is that it seems like everyone goes to one of two extremes. On the one hand, people seem to deny that there's any moral dimension to entertainment and culture whatsoever. And then on the other hand, people want to reduce entertainment and culture to nothing more than their moral dimensions. And both of those positions just seem ridiculous to me.

ROFL are you... is this a joke?

I've spent the past 6 years on tumblr listening to progressives tell me my faves are problematic, so? I guess maybe Dem politicians just finally figured out what their voter base wanted?
