I've not played The Council, but in FAITH you are definitely supposed to think the "preacher" is wrong for what he did. Granted, in FAITH demons might actually be real. Or the protagonist is having some crazy hallucinations.

+1, I don't get how you played that game and thought that it was telling you that torturing kids is a sympathetic thing to do.

You should probably check for triggers a little more thoroughly, but at any rate saying you don't condone child abuse of any kind might cover it? If people still have a problem with it you can mention that you knew someone who faced a similar circumstance and didn't approve. You don't need to get into details to make yourself known.
