I've not played The Council, but in FAITH you are definitely supposed to think the "preacher" is wrong for what he did. Granted, in FAITH demons might actually be real. Or the protagonist is having some crazy hallucinations.

+1, I don't get how you played that game and thought that it was telling you that torturing kids is a sympathetic thing to do.
