Nature. Beautiful landscapes. It reminds me that there are beautiful things in this world that humans haven't managed to ruin yet, and that if/when our species self-destructs, the world will go on without us.

The idea of helping people. Actually being able to help people. Other lawyers being out there, making a difference, helping their clients. RBG and others who have changed the law for the better and inspire me to be a good lawyer. Other historical figures who have made a difference and stood up for what was right and helped other people even when it was difficult.

Certain shows, movies, and books inspire me to make a difference as well. I rewatch/reread them when I get in dark places or start to feel uninspired.

Clients inspire me. The horrific things they've gone through and still manage to remain strong and want to fight to be able to stay here in America for themselves and their families.

And, weirdly, there are some characters I've made up in my head that inspire me. Like, they are in some ways the ideal version of me, sort of. Like the best possible traits of things I'd like to be or things I think I could be, things I can work towards. A bigger version, a world saving version of what I could do on a much, much smaller scale.

The city when it's dark and deserted. It's wild how alive one can feel in the dead of night. Silence reboots one's outlook better than sleep sometimes.

Monopoly sets. I've got 4 Star Wars ones, the Simpsons Halloween Special one, Dogopoly, a regular one, a Star Trek one, the Mega version, and one of the Lord of the Rings versions. I hope to someday get more when I have more money and have people who'd actually play with me.

General nerdy things, mainly Doctor Who, Star Wars, and LOTR. I've got a bunch of kitchen utensils and things from all three in storage right now as well as things like toy lightsabers, some action figures, and some t-shirts.

Books and fics. It's something I like to 'own' for the sake of owning them. I enjoy searching for new books as well as for the fics in my fandoms.
Candles. That way people always know what to give me as a gift.

I’m reading a fic that’s well written, but the author has made characterization choices that are really not my cup of tea and they’re heavily turning me off. I know I should stop reading now, and not continue in the hopes those characterization choices get minimized…but I’m probably going to keep reading. Like a fool.
