I got maybe four hours of sleep and I put spoiled milk in my coffee, so I was kinda grumpy in the morning, but it’s starting to get colder and that’s really helping my mood.

I went running this morning, felt pretty good. Had a couple of puffs, and right now I'm chilling with my dog, waiting for baseball to start (about another hour). I'm thinking about getting Mediterranean food for dinner, something light and grill-y. I've got a lot of stuff on DVR to watch, that and a glass of wine later this evening.

Woke up at 3:30 for some reason and took forever to get back to sleep. Went to work. Made this face at all the coworkers I hate under my mask. :C

went grocery shopping on almost no sleep because my neighbors are pigs who throw garbage where they're not supposed to so my bldg has mice and the little fuckers got into my apt and make a lot more noise than you'd think. I had to go to five stores just to get glue traps. I would love a cat but I'm so allergic to them I can't breathe and my face swells up and burns. I did at least get a piece of cake at my favorite cafe so that part cheered me up. :)

I had sleep issues this morning which led to me eating my daily calorie limit by noon. Since then I’ve been mainly lying on the couch flipping between cheesy horror movies and old episodes of Spongebob.

Let's see. I had a 2.5 hour CLE video panel thing that was a bunch of judges and law professors talking about bias in the legal system. I was doing it because it was free and CLE (continuing legal ed, in Texas we're required to have a certain amount every year) credit, but it turned out to be really good.

I had groceries delivered in the late afternoon. I also ordered some flowers for a friend who has been down the past few days.

Tonight I had a small group meeting with some friends on Zoom.

Now I'm working on a fest fic that is due in a few days.

Work, raid hour in Pokemon Go (sadly still no shiny Giratina :() finished up a new fic for the first time in like... 4 years. Second time in 7 years. Letting it sit before editing and seeing if it's actually worth posting.

Went to shop for shoes. It's nice when you find shoes you like and fit you well. Also ran some errands. I'm so tired, man. So tired.

I'm a big film geek so I think it'd be kind of cool to have made a movie that won an Oscar.

Gonna be real, I’d be happy with just successfully completing NaNoWriMo. I don’t have any real aspirations beyond it as far as awards go.

Some award that would be awarding me for being a good lawyer and helping people. I think right now the one I can think of would be the American Bar Association's Outstanding Nonprofit Lawyer Award because it would mean I would actually have the legal service lawyer job that is my dream job and that I was good at it and thus helping a lot of clients.

Anyone giving it a go despite the dumpster fire that this year has been?

I haven't done it in a couple of years and a part of me wants to just to get back into the habit of writing daily, but my brain is just empty, tbh.

Is there like an abandoned bunny farm I can pull ideas from?

I haven't successfully completed it in years, but I want to try it this year because I have an idea I've been bouncing around in my head.

Listening to music usually helps me when there's nothing in my brain. Sometimes just googling story prompt lists help too.

Maybe. I don't know. I've been trying to write since I lost my job in April but I've just been a lump. Totally get the empty brain thing.

The NaNo forums have things like "adopt a plot". I never find anything I like, but it can be a jumping off point.
