Anyone know a good way to unsubscribe from political emails? I unsubscribe and report them all as spam, but it doesn't stop new ones.

Learned my lesson, at least: never donating online to any political cause of any kind, ever again.

If you're using Gmail, it's possible to filter out this stuff to a separate folder, or just junk it automatically.

there's one group that keeps constantly calling me by the wrong name (and it's one that sounds fake) I sent them several replies telling them they have the wrong person but they just keep coming nonstop so I just delete them really fast.

Werewolf Novel Reccomendations

(Anonymous) 2020-10-25 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm looking for books that focus on werewolves that aren't horror, romance/erotica (romance is fine as a sub-plot, just not as a central focus), and don't have misogynistic pack structures. So, something focused more on world building and characters.

The closest I've gotten to what I am looking for is Patrica Briggs's stuff, but while it has gotten better in recent years, her works are pretty misogynistic.

I haven't read them, but I recently heard about Catherine Lundoff? has werewolf books whose MC is a menopausal woman.

Cozy Werewolf Anon senses perking up!

Um, hi, I'm Ginny O. I write cozy werewolf dramas with found family, slice of life, and slow burn romance. (And I mean SLOW, slow, burn romance.) Based on werewolf folklore and MODERN wolf science. Um, I wrote these books in response to Patricia Briggs and most urban fantasy/paranormal romance werewolves I've read. You can find them on Amazon through this handy link:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075V8MH19

Short summary: One hot summer, Gideon Vonrothe, ex-military and unsuspecting sucker, is looking for a new pack. What he finds is the Heaven's Heathens Motorcycle Club and private security agency. The Club is the pack and the pack is a family with siblings that squabble. Assigned to the tutelage of the pack leader's granddaughter, Savannah Barker, as the temperatures climb so does the intensity of the security agency jobs and the heat of their nascent relationship. Is this a new beginning or the beginning of the end for the Heaven's Heathens?

Enjoy? and Bless!

Hmmm... I love a good werewolf novel myself, but I'm not into the whole alpha romance thing.

I'm sorry to say that I haven't found too many good ones. I want plotty, interesting books with a werewolf as a main character. Maybe someone else will have something for both of us :)

The Pax Arcana series by Elliot James has a main character who's a werewolf, though it's not a huge focus of the books beyond his struggle with it (the second book focuses on his learning to be a werewolf, basically). I remember enjoying them, even though they are trashy, but the POV main character is not quite as terrible a manchild as Dresden from the Dresden Files. There's a main side romance, but it's also not overwhelming.

Under the Wig. It's an autobiographical novel by one of the top QCs (Keir Starmer, current labour leader used to be his junior!).

What was the oddest/strangest thing that happened this week for you?

(Anonymous) 2020-10-25 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
'Oddest' or 'strangest' is fully subject to interpretation! Anything works! It's Spooky Week and Halloween is right around the corner!

So... I guess actually what was the strangest thing that happened LAST week for you. Lmfao. Or whatever.

Watched a live streamed conference at work. The moderator fainted twice. After she fainted the first time, she got up and continued, but after a minute or so, she fainted again. The camera then cut to the co-moderator who scrambled to get back on script with a deer-in-headlights expression on his face.

My dad got a letter addressed to me with no return address. He forwarded it to me on Tuesday, and it still hasn't arrived, so I'm losing my absolute mind over what it could be or who it could be from. (I moved out of state like five years ago, and everyone I care about already knows where I live.)

I suppose the increased amount of bizarre dreams I've been having qualifies? Most recent one I remember is one where we were all in the queue for a rollercoaster ride that turned out to be an interactive ride in and of itself where Thomas (as in the tank) was fixing to kill all of the riders? And I didn't even find a place to bin the results of cleaning out my cat's litter tray before we had to hide from him.

A lot of hatred of Funko POP figures comes from a once expensive and exclusive hobby no longer being expensive and exclusive. You can't change my mind, because people point to Nendos which are still minimum $30 on clearance in the US and that's if you aren't shipping from Japan and they come in way less forms. They're $50+ that way because of shipping costs from Japan. Funkos, meanwhile, appear to largely be cheap $11 figures and an accessible way into figure collecting.
