I am in serious need of some help here guys!
Wrapping gifts is a huge passion of mine, I live for it, but this years I'm having some serous artists block and am extremely behind my usual schedule. I would very much appreciate it if anyone could link me (or send images) of any kind of ideas/people/sites/anything that you may know of or have come across that really suck out to you. Or any crazy idea that you thought would be cool if someone tried that. (hell it doesn't even have to be gift wrapping specifically, last year I was very inspired by fringe and used a manual shredder to make tassels out of ribbon)

Complexity and supplies aren't much of a concern to me, so don't hesitate to link me anything ridiculous! In fact the stranger the better! I'm happy with even the smallest thing, since you never know when inspiration will strike! <33

This (https://youtu.be/JFf3UOgGvHc) kind of unfolding box thing always looks super intense and interesting to me. I think my SIL would love one but they're pricey and I don't have the skills to bring it off. But maybe it might be of interest to you?

Holy shit! I've never seen anything like that before! It's amazing, and exactly the type of creativity that I was looking for! Thank you so much! <33
While the box itself will have to wait until next year (which is going to be so much fun! Like I already know I'm gonna forget about half the gifts I bury in there!) as I highly doubt I'll be able to pull of that level of intricacy without a lot of practice, but I'm already thinking up ways I can incorporate each level into various gifts!

The whole pop-up book idea is ingenious! I'm so excited! <333

Experiences with Sertraline?

[personal profile] kribban 2020-12-19 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
I've been having a moderate depression and I called a doctor who prescribed me sertraline, 50 mg. He was very casual about it and said he prescribes it all the time and it hardly ever has any side effects.

I talked to two friends who take it. One said she has no side effects and it was the best decision of her life. The other said there will be terrible side effects and that it should only be taken as a last resort.

So, now I'm kind of torn on what to do.

The effects of any drug will depend on the chemical makeup of the individual taking it. Side effects although rare/common as they may be, do happen. And in my experience are often worsened by a negative mindset of the person taking them.

I'd speak to your doctor again and ask specifically why they prescribed this particular drug in your specific case. After all every medication reacts in a different way, and not a single one without the risk of side effects. I'd suggest looking into different reactions and side effects, though mainly to heed your doctors suggestion as well as inform them of your hesitance. Other than that the main clincher would be to look at what restrictions the drug may require when taking it and if they conflict with your lifestyle. (aka orange juice can negate the effect of certain blood pressure meds and alcohol anti-anxiety)

As someone who has had poor reactions to similar meds in the past, I still would recommend giving the medication a try. You can always taper off the dosage if you feel the drug isn't right for you later on. (about two weeks is the general timeframe for Sertraline to properly take effect) Make sure to keep in touch with your doctor, and mainly, ask yourself if you're comfortable taking this medication, side effects notwithstanding. Stay safe!

^ a site I use to research most meds. It has personal experiences, references, ect.

I'm on 75mg, started last October at 50mg and moved up to 75mg after the rioting started this past spring/summer. The side effects for me lasted a couple of months after I first started (including hot flashes/chills, intense sleepiness, and a panic attack). There are different types of anti-anxiety/depressant medications out there with different mechanisms of action, and unfortunately it's a trial and error effort to figure out the best one for an individual. My doctor started me on sertraline because it's the easiest to come off of if it didn't help. Thankfully it did work for me, so I didn't have to go through a carousel of medications like some of my friends.

I always been a little self isolating but been meaning to change this and I think fandom can be good place to start. Where are good places to find that and how can I be more approachable etc?
