Experiences with Sertraline?
I talked to two friends who take it. One said she has no side effects and it was the best decision of her life. The other said there will be terrible side effects and that it should only be taken as a last resort.
So, now I'm kind of torn on what to do.
Re: Experiences with Sertraline?
(Anonymous) 2020-12-19 10:11 am (UTC)(link)I'd speak to your doctor again and ask specifically why they prescribed this particular drug in your specific case. After all every medication reacts in a different way, and not a single one without the risk of side effects. I'd suggest looking into different reactions and side effects, though mainly to heed your doctors suggestion as well as inform them of your hesitance. Other than that the main clincher would be to look at what restrictions the drug may require when taking it and if they conflict with your lifestyle. (aka orange juice can negate the effect of certain blood pressure meds and alcohol anti-anxiety)
As someone who has had poor reactions to similar meds in the past, I still would recommend giving the medication a try. You can always taper off the dosage if you feel the drug isn't right for you later on. (about two weeks is the general timeframe for Sertraline to properly take effect) Make sure to keep in touch with your doctor, and mainly, ask yourself if you're comfortable taking this medication, side effects notwithstanding. Stay safe!

^ a site I use to research most meds. It has personal experiences, references, ect.
