In my view, the most satisfying written erotica is based on your preferred focus - emotions, sensations, and a mood appropriate to the characters and situation. (cuddly mutual happy fun, an awkward first time, angst!sex, rough and ready, etc.) The basic goings-on might be similar, but they can be conveyed differently depending on the intended overall effect.
