113 I'm not going home for Christmas next year, probably not ever again (I'll go home other times) and one thing I'm looking forward to is being home and curling up with Yuletide!

135 Some people can actually do things in moderation. They can have fulfilling lives and spend time online as a part of that. I don't get this either/or thing people have going.
141 Oh, this happens every year at the holidays and also in late May. The kids are out on their vacations, esp the college kids who don't really want to be home, and they get bored, so they start stirring shit up online to keep themselves amused. Everything gets wankier. Check out hate memes, etc, and you'll find that they usually get started either during the holidays or at the start of summer break.
143 Yeah, I'm really bored with writing it. I went through a whole smut period, and then I got to the place where I felt like I was just repeating myself. There are only so many ways to have sex, and you're right, it's the lead up to the act, not the act itself, that's interesting. Now I write a lot of PG-13 and R, and save the NC-17 for when I'm particularly moved.
154 One of the things I love about LJ is that it's really easy for friendships to grow and change as people's interests change. You can get to know different sides of someone, instead of having to stick to a topic like on a discussion board. But I say, try to do the things you did to get the HP friends you have in these new fandoms, and try to be patient about it.
