Whoa. I'm pretty sure you didn't mean it this way, but you're coming off as really damn entitled right now with the wishing that fandom would write your pairing and all.

Don't get me wrong, I dig Russia/China myself, but there's no way I'd be so presumptuous as to ask an entire fandom to cater to me.

Agree with you on 181 about Liet needing more badass scenes, though.

hgdjfsagfdhsd Yeah, definitely not what I meant at all. I don't begrudge the fans (enough) to make them, like, stop writing Russia/Liet if they like it so much. I'm definitely not expecting them to suddenly drop everything to write my OTP. I just thought, literally, that it would be nice to see less Russia/Liet. I really just want to understand the appeal of Russia/Liet, though. I don't get it at all. ._. Did I clarify that in a less of pretentious wanker way? I really hope so. >.<

Hey, don't worry. I got what you meant before and I didn't take offense to it. I just didn't want someone else to jump on you because you've got a point despite things.

(I like Russia/China and Russia/Lithuania (and Poland/Lithuania and Lithuania/Belarus) myself, but I find the people who portray Russia as anything besides a crazy and creepy man towards Liet are kind of missing the point. It's supposed to be a pairing that breaks your heart and ends horribly, not something that's flowers and sunshine.)

Well...I sort of like the whole cognitive dissonance between the two types of behavior. Like you see this timid shy guy and then he turns unexpectedly badass and you go "HOLY SHIT DID HE JUST DO THAT? WOW!" before he turns back to normal. It's kind of like watching a less dickish version of Superman.

I guess maybe that's my problem with Russia/Lithuania. I've made myself tired of twisted, abusive relationships, but on the other hand, as you said, anything happy-fluffy-sunshine-and-joy is really out of character and is really not what they're supposed to be.

Oh yes, totally. But he definitely needs more badass moments. He's had, like, what, that one?

Oh hell yes, he does. No argument there at all.

And now I sort of want a post-independence fic where Lithuania gets some closure between him and Russia by standing up to him. It'd probably be wildly OOC considering his characterization now, but it'd also be incredibly satisfying to read.
