Within the confines of the kinds of stories I like, these characters happen not to show up often. It's not mysogeny. It's "I don't give a crap what's between your legs, you're boring."

I am still exponentially less likely to read a book with a female lead, or have any particular fondness for women in movies or television shows. I don't necessarily hate them, I just don't like them.

These two statements contradict one another. You obviously do care at least somewhat what's between their legs. It's not misogyny, no, but it is sexist to automatically think that a work of fiction with a female lead has a higher likelihood of being boring than a work of fiction with a male lead. It sounds like you scrutinize female characters more than you do male ones; you've already set the bar higher for them from the get-go.

A lot of movies and TV shows do a really bad job of making their female characters as real and human as their male characters. It's not the fault of the women (nor of the viewer), but of the writers who can't seem to include women in their definition of "human being/normal character". I don't think disliking that kind of writing means you dislike female characters.

I don't disagree necessarily with your first statement, but I don't think it should be a cause-and-effect thing. It speaks to an individual's biases as well as the trend of writers.

She isn't even giving them a try, BECAUSE the lead is female. Just because it takes a bit of hit and miss, doesn't mean you should just ignore them.

She is judging works based on whether the lead is male or female. That is sexist.

It also wouldn't surprise me if the standards she sets for men and women are substantially different, just like the secret points out.

Aw, well, if someone's doing that they're missing out on some fantastic characters. I don't know if this LJer is doing that, since I don't know them, and it's easy to misinterpret what someone's saying on this issue. I hope they're not, though!
