Oh, have I got some venting to do:

First of all, my daughter's dad stole a coffee cup I got for Christmas but hadn’t used yet and left it somewhere that my daughter knocked it over and it shattered.

Second, my computer finally came back, except it wasn’t my computer because they picked an arbitrary alternate desktop as the owner and I found out while I was looking around my profile wasn’t there at all. So, I checked the hdd to see where my files and stuff were supposed to be it was 100G (my camera’s card is bigger) when my hard drive is 2TB. So, they just slapped something together and thought I wouldn't notice? I don't know what they were thinking, but they better have it back today.

And, at the end of the night, my daughter tugged on the towel hanger attached the back of the door one too many times (after being told not to do it at all) and pulled it right out of the door.

So, that was my evening yesterday.

Ugh. So a couple days ago, there was a big wind storm here overnight that blew down tree limbs, power lines, etc., and one of the big wooden gates on my fence partially blew off its hinges. Its still very loosely attached by two hinges, but the post it attached to splintered badly because it was rotted, and that will need to be replaced as well. So I go on Yelp looking for fence repair, filled out a form to hear from 6 different fence repair places, and waited to hear back. I get an email from a guy who's interested in the job, and sends me a form to set up an appointment for an estimate. I picked the time I wanted him to be here, 12-2PM today, and sent back the form. Guy sends it back and asks if I can reschedule for 10:30-11:00AM today, thats kinda fucky for me but I can swing it if I plan the day carefully (I have shit to do too). So 10:30-11:00AM comes and goes, no guy, no call, no email, nothing. I waited until noon then I just had to leave and run errands. I thought maybe he'd be here at the OG time, but nope, no call, nothing. Grrrrr.

I'm going with another company, obviously, but goddamn people who don't respect my time really chap my asshole.

Tumblr doesn't seem to be working for me on my computer at the moment - I can get on the main page fine and could reblog whatever was on that page, but I can't click on anything else like going onto the next page or anything on the option buttons above.
The app was working earlier on my tablet, but I wanted to upload some drawings from my computer instead of having to email files to my tablet again like the last time Tumblr wouldn't work on here.

By any chance is anyone else having trouble with Tumblr?

My dentist just clearly doesn't believe in medication. argh. The mouth guard is nice and will help eventually. But when I'm in pain so bad I can barely eat and he's just not willing to prescribe anything, it just pisses me off honestly. Sometimes people need prescriptions. I get it, muscle relaxants are like opioids and the opioid crisis means we have to be cautious with such meds. But people still sometimes need them.

Ended up messaging my primary care doctor, but he won't prescribe without seeing me, and his first appointment was in two weeks.

Thankfully, my mom and I came up with another solution on our own. I'm now going to get a medical massage tomorrow, just on my head. The lady I found has pretty extensive COVID precautions and hopefully it will be safe. Hopefully it will help.

I am experiencing so much premature ageing thanks to my health fuckery. I'm early thirties and I look about 50, no word of a lie. I know it's shallow to be upset by this but it's just that extra twist of the knife.

I've been having chest pains the last couple of weeks. I would be worried it was COVID, but unluckily for me, I've actually been having this problem for over a decade.

I just didn't realize it might be incipient heart attack chest pain, because it started after I got sick and was told at the time I probably just coughed so much I irritated my respiratory system.

And it would come back off and on and feel like a sore throat, sometimes complete with mucus, but all the way down to under my left boob. So I assumed I had an infection, drank lots of tea, took antihistamines, and just learned to live with it. It always got worse when I got sick and then eased off.

Now it's almost constant, and there's no point in going to the hospital because every one for hundreds of miles is bursting with COVID patients and there's no room to treat anyone. I might try for a virtual visit tomorrow but I imagine those are full up too.

Also if the only treatment is a better diet then I guess I'm screwed, sigh.

Okay I have this 4gig external hard drive. It is one that is intended for Windows, and i have to use mounting software to make it work on my Macbook air.

Right now it is having problems. It will have empty space one minute and then it will disappear the next. It is the kind of thing that on a PC would mean it needs defragmnting. Except because I have a mac with a flash drive, none of the de fragmenting softwares will recognize any hard drive, even a non flash one, if they are being used on this computer.

I have no idea what to do. I don't have a hundred bucks to replace the hard drive and copy the files. So really frustrated right now.

I'm tired of wanting shit I can't have, I just want to bury all these feelings and kill them. Stop bothering me. I don't want to care. I have no chance. It's too late to start, and I can't do it anymore. I'm not even smart enough to think outside the box. Just stop. I'm so tired of feeling so heartsick. I'm tired of feeling like a stupid child who thinks they're entitled to shit they aren't entitled to have and is out of touch with how the world actually works and can't grow the fuck up and SEE that. Nobody can help me, and I can't help myself. So just stop it.

Actually listened to: "Tether Me" by Galleaux, because a friend linked me because it reminded her of one of the two characters I currently can't stop writing. (It actually kinda reminded me of both of them at points so uhm yeah, I'll take it!)

Listened to on repeat in my head: "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" by Radiohead, because thinking about songs about those two reminded me that I had the thought a couple months ago that if that character was a song, it would be that one. (The other character is a different Radiohead song. I don't know why they are both Radiohead songs.)

Not /really/ pet peeves, but I've been thinking recently about the stories I like, and what, specifically I like about them, and I have some... hot takes.

Detective Stories: I don't need there to be "Personal stakes" in my detective stories. I'm actually growing pretty weary of the detective trying to solve the deep dark mysteries of their own past, or working to clear his love interest for a murder she didn't commit, or any of that shit. It seems inevitable that detective stories try to ram that in there at some point as a series goes on, but really, whats wrong with a dude just... solving mysteries just because? Think Johnathan creek, or the best episodes of the x files (where they just solve the freak of the week and ignore their personal battles behind the scenes), or Sherlock Holmes? Remember When Sherlock Holmes just solved cases? Before BBC Sherlock? I don't need it to be more than "I solve crimes, so I will solve this crime."

Cyberpunk: I don't need the Punk part of cyberpunk. I dunno, what you'd call the genre, but I don't need to see the futuristic society from the bottom up. I like all the trappings of cyberpunk, but honesty, I've seen enough "High tech, Low lives." I'm ready for some "High tech High life".

TV shows in general: I'm kinda done with the long overarching plot that takes a whole series to wrap up. Can we have some more stuff like Star Trek: TNG / One episode = One Story?

Superhero films: For the love of GOD stop with all the GADDAM QUIPPING!
