It always makes me nervous when Gen Z walks into a fandom. In a general sense from what I've personally seen, they've been consistently the meanest and quickest to anger of fans.

They're not all like this of course, but way too many of them will waltz into a 30-year-old fandom (seriously, I saw this happening in fucking X-FILES on Tumblr) and then act horrified that there are adults in there making adult stuff and start screaming about "nasty old hags" and whatnot.

If the fandom itself would be old enough to have a mortgage and aching knees if it were a person, you can be damn well sure there are going to be adults in it. Some ranging from 30 up to death. No, they will not leave or stop making smut because you're uncomfy.

Especially if the source material itself is something that's, you know, aimed at adults. Like, wow, there are adults in the fandom for a show that's meant for adults, how shocking!
