I'm a hardcore OTP shipper, so I don't really enjoy the "EVERYONE has chemistry with EVERYONE" approach. But it's not a bad idea, since a lot of people do enjoy that approach.

Personally, I always want my ships to be canon, but never until near the end of the series. Hell, even if the last episode just indicates that the characters are probably going to get together in the future, that's good with me.

RST is basically always boring to me. Even when it's written well and actually honors the characters and their relationship (which is rare), it still tends to be a bit dull after a little while. OTOH, my appetite for UST is bottomless. Give me six, seven, eight seasons of UST and I will be all over it.

I'm an OTP-er too but one half of most of my ships is usually a fandom bike type who gets paired with lots of different characters. They can have chemistry with lots of different characters, but I just focus on the relationship I like.

Yeah, that's very true. I think what I wasn't feeling was the idea of everybody having chemistry with everybody. That sounds exhausting and chaotic to me, lol. But one character having chemistry with everybody is great. IMO characters like that are usually the kind of character who elevates the entire show/movie.
