(Anonymous) 2021-02-08 09:13 am (UTC)(link)There comes a time in every story, including romance, where you have to - excuse the French - shit or get off the pot. I loathe unresolved romances and obstacles for the sake of obstacles far more than any "boring" couple. So many ships that I've loved just dragged on far too long to be remotely interesting. The writers prove the characters actually CAN live without each other, so I eventually stop caring about whether they will decide they can't.
Honestly, it's downright refreshing when shows actually let their characters get together and portray realistic relationships. And especially in shows the OP describes where the romance isn't the main point, there's absolutely no reason not to have many different kinds of storylines, INCLUDING resolved romances.
