Bobby from Supernatural's pretty great. He's gruff and doesn't suffer fools gladly, but he really cares for Sam and Dean and goes to great lengths to help them.

Bobby also physically resembles my dad-- similar features, similar coloring, house full of books... so getting into SPN after my dad's death I latched onto him hard.
