I get this because this is exactly how I feel about Rose Tyler. Intellectually I get the appeal of her character, but I've found her irritating really from the beginning, but especially since her second season. I get why others like her, but I just have never been able to. I liked Doctor in spite of her and because of the Doctor, and then other companions came along and I got why the Doctor and companion dynamic was loved and could work so well.
