Didn't say it was. But what you said was "Fine Gael, which is led by an openly gay man, was a fundamentalist Christian party which hates the gays for being unchristian" which does imply that the party can't "hate the gays" because they are led by a gay guy which is what I disagree with.

Yes, I take your point - what I was trying to get across was less that it was impossible for Fine Gael to be homophobic because Varadkar is gay, and more underlining that the analysis of Irish politics was not really founded on a robust knowledge of the subject
