I'm so torn on this... on one hand, I absolutely hated season 8 and want nothing to do with the show (or the books tbh) at this point, but I also crave a new fantasy show. Plus, DRAGONS!
(Maybe I'll wait till it finishes or gets cancelled, whatever happens first and then maybe watch. Also depends on how much fanservice that consists of only boobs will be in there.)

There's the Tolkien show that's supposed to premiere on Amazon Prime some time this year.
There's Shadow and Bone, based on Leigh Bardugo's worldwide Grishaverse novels, on Netflix.
There's The Watch, based on City Watch books in the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, which has something to do with dragons, but maybe not the way you want.

I AM looking forward to the Tolkien show actually!

I'm not sure about Shadow & Bone yet. I liked the books fine and the trailer looked great, but I might watch once the hype has died down a little bit. I'm one of the few people who doesn't really care about Ben Barnes or his character and fandom is already screaming only about him. (Also side-eye some choices they made)

Heard The Watch had barely anything to do with Pratchett's books or was that another show?

Yeah, I do think it's only loosely 'inspired by', so maybe better to go into that one not looking for Pratchett and just think of it as fantasy, Monster-of-the-Week type show.

The Watch is definitely just "inspired by", in a particularly irritating way - they kept the character names but turned them into largely different people (the most noticeable one being that Lady Sibyl gets turned into a youthful vigilante). If it was just sort of vaguely set in the same universe, I might have given it a try, but as it is, I didn't feel at all inclined to.... No idea if there are dragons or not.
