In addition to what the other person mentioned, Aiden Gillan's Littlefinger was so incredibly bad at points. Plus, by the last two seasons, even the more accomplished actors were starting to phone in their performances. Peter Dinklage was very up and down with his character, but his acting in season 8 was god awful. They basically turned Lena Headey's Cersei into Generic Female Villain so her acting adjusted accordingly. Probably the only person who consistently gave 110% on the show was Liam Cunningham.

I feel like Gillan, Dinklage, and Headey's performances are directly related to the shitty, shitty writing and directing. By the end of their character arcs, the writing was so utterly stupid that there was no way anyone could polish that turd.
