Agreed. What I don't like is when people twist the personalities of characters to fit into those tropes - I have zero issues with the tropes themselves when they do in fact apply to the characters' canon selves. Like, right now I really like a pairing where the character who is usually written as the top is rough and stereotypically masculine and physically bigger and the character who is usually on the bottom is more delicate and feminine and submissive, but that's the way they actually are in canon, pairing aside.
