Yup yup yup. Just like everyone else is saying, if the characters are really like that, I'd rather have them written that way than have someone change their personality just to subvert the tropes.

But the tropes are just not for me. I especially hate the height rule because (as noted in a comment the other day) I am tiny and toppy. I lean into pairings with characters who are likewise tiny and toppy. I wouldn't make the smaller character toppy if they didn't already have that sort of mannerism though, that's just as dumb as the reverse.
