(Anonymous) 2021-04-19 04:49 am (UTC)(link)At the very least, no, OP may not know the solution. I certainly don't know the solution and I have the same problem. There is, in fact, no "solution."
When I'm craving well-written fic for my ship, I'm craving well-written fic for my ship. I'm not craving fanart, or the satisfaction of leaving a comment or of modding an exchange. I've been a mod. I leave long comments. I've written meta. I'm not sure why you think any of those thing would satisfy one's craving for a well-written fic.
And while I have bought fics from charity auctions before, there is no conceivable way I could ever hope to afford to purchase a long fic, or even a medium length fic. If one is very, very lucky, their author will feel inspired and get carried away and will end up writing a longer fic voluntarily, but understandably, that doesn't happen all that terribly often.
So no, no, I do not "know the solution."

(Anonymous) 2021-04-19 06:31 am (UTC)(link)You misinterpreted my suggestions. Producing more content of any sort, keeping the fandom alive, being more engaged, making your favourite writers happy that someone has liked their stuff and therefore more inclined to write again - that's much more likely to get you the fic you want than whingeing on an anonmeme. You might not get the well-written fic that you desire, of course. Them's the breaks if someone else is doing the hard work for you.
