In my thirties, I feel that I have more social capital and freedom to navigate the world than I ever did in my teens or even well into my twenties. Millennials are poised to take over the cultural narrative. Hell, we're already doing that, increasingly responsible for the majority of popular media content. Our generation is big as hell, we can really do a thing or two if only we can wrestle political power away from the dinosaurs. I don't understand the passivity in the language of the secret. Millennial women have been "given up on"? We need to "get back some respect"? Who the fuck is out here defining us if not ourselves?

Yes, memes are the domain of the kids... because that's basically the only method they have to exercise any kind of control over the cultural narrative.

yeah i just cannot for the life of me muster up any energy to be mad a teenagers for... being teenagers. they make fun of things, it's what they do, and what they've always done and frankly my generation was no different at all, but from what i see on here people my own age sure as hell think we were.

the notion that we're ignored is such a strange one because we're not? media and political movements are more and more in our control as time goes on, we'll be running this show after the current lot in power so how exactly are we 'missing out'? tbh so much of this shit comes off as insecure projection not dissimilar from those white male nerds who keep insisting that they're somehow the underdogs when they run the world in most cases.

no one is 'keeping us down' especially not the teenagers making silly jokes on the internet.
