This is one of those things where - in my opinion - it really is systematic. That there's a racial bias is something that shows up in the broad fandom wide trends, not something where each individual person's decision can be motivated by racism. But I think it's a good thing to be aware of nonetheless.

Yeah, it's one of those things where both detractors AND people trying to criticize forget. It's about systematic actions. Like, if a fandom has noticeable Black characters but those characters aren't in major ships.

It's also something that cannot be easily, or perhaps at all, divorced from representation itself. Racism affects casting, what kind of characters are written, etc. So is the answer for a single person only ever shipping white characters racism? Yeah, but it's not all about individual racism. It was in every casting or character development.
