I don't know this fandom, but this is always how I do romance in self-insert protags and in shipping. Whether I'd want to date them IRL has nothing to do with whether I pick them in the game. I pick the character I like the most, no matter what.

I get that, trust me, I romanced Fenris in DA2 and he's a lot of things but healthy is not one of them.

But I still don't get the whole hype about Dimitri. When I finally picked the Blue Lions, I was mostly bored. Dimitri felt like the boring cliché of the poor man who has suffered so much and just need a hug. Edelgard was also a cliché but a fun one, at least.

I totally disagree with the OP because I don't even find him hot. Claude, Felix or even Ferdinand post time-skip are way hotter. But I still don't like Felix because he's an asshole. I really don't get Hubert either. He just looks weird.

No, there's not, I just wish fandom would admit that he was and not that he's some super complex dark ultra deep character. He can be a bit nuanced, but his entire character is basically Manpain.
