Oh yes, that era is perhaps the first instance of lifelong fans of the show getting some hold on the material and getting way too excited about exploring things that maybe aren't that pressing to everyone else.

2021 me definitely thinks from time to time that Gallifrey and the regular Time Lords probably should've stayed blown up forever. I don't mind e.g. The Master coming back, but even they are verging on "do we have to do this again?" because of being so explicitly tied to Gallifrey lore yet again.
