the show bores me. I don't know why, but it does. I can't even argue with your opinion, because I wasnm't paying enough attention while I tried to watch the show.

Imo it's because Netflix originals are bad. Netflix is bad at making TV shows.

Netflix has a ton of great shows (and mini-series if those count as shows).

What are they? And how many of them are co-productions, or licensing/funding deals with existing platforms?

Mind Hunter (both seasons)
Sex Education (both seasons)
The OA (both seasons)
Dark (Only watched S1 so far, but from what I’ve heard later seasons hold up)
Orange Is The New Black (first couple seasons)
Umbrella Academy (both seasons)
Sense8 (maybe. barely makes the list due to serious pacing issue and too many long-ass orgie scenes, but that's just me.)

I'm struggling through it, wanting it to be better but... it's not.

If this is a sample Irregular, they are TOO OLD. Canonically, they are street children.

The characterization for both Holmes and Watson was a big damn mess.

Do not watch it on that basis, I'm just saying. It's about how Watson is gay for Holmes but Holmes is wrapped up in his Very Important Het Relationship* and Watson fucks it up and is trying to make up for it even though he'll never be as important as the Very Important Het Relationship and the magical sparkly daughter from that relationship.

*Because when I think of Holmes, his very important het relationships are definitely what springs to mind.

This show got cancelled today.

I'm not surprised.

I've not seen it, but my understanding is that it was trying to be the Woke Version(tm) which it thought it was achieving by making Holmes and Watson snobs who took unfair credit for the work of the Irregulars. So I can't say I'm especially sorry if that's really how the show was written

I was reading this secret thinking "Well, you don't have to worry about it anymore!"

It was really weird to have a dark Watson, but I enjoyed the show regardless.

A dark Watson done well and subtly could be superb actually but I'm guessing that is not how they did it

The part I found weirdest about the whole thing was how they made everyone connected with the original Holmes canon a complete asshole. Except for Mycroft, who was just incompetent.

Yeah, that was weird. I'm not sure why you'd want to adopt the Sherlock Holmes stories and go THAT far from the canon, but...eh. It didn't work for me.

Do have to say, though - that is an *excellent* waistcoat, and he wears it *extremely* well.
